Beekman Athletic Club is a non-profit youth organization whose success depends on volunteers that can commit time to manage and coach our players in addition to assisting at league events.
There are several opportunities for volunteers each year
Board of Directors: The Board of Directors are responsible for the overall health of the league and vote on important decisions. Member voting is held at the September meeting. The position is officially taken on October 1. This allows new members to have a month for transition. Current positions are:

Other League Officials: These roles provide critical import to the Board and are important to the operations of our league but do not have a vote on important decisions. Current positions are:
All Star Tournament Coordinator
Assistant Baseball Director
Assistant Softball Director
Social Media Manager
Umpire in Chief
Auxiliary: Members of our auxiliary are primarily responsible for obtaining sponsors and overseeing fundraising events and Opening/Closing Ceremonies. They also assist with registration and other league events.

All Start Tournament Scorekeeper: The official scorekeeper for each tournament game based on initial lineups and changes by each team's manager.
Autumn In The Ballpark: This annual event was started in 2014 and held each October. It includes a Home Run Derby where all proceeds are donated to Breast Cancer Awareness. A volunteer game is held under the lights in addition to having food, drinks and sprit wear.
Committees: There will be times that committees will be needed to develop programs or to accumulate information for recommendation to the Board for vote. An example is the Travel Team Committee that developed a Travel program with guidelines, procedures and FAQ.
Babe Ruth League, Inc. advocates for the careful selection of league volunteers, especially those who make a direct import on our your players. Background checks are required for all volunteers:
- All leagues will be required to conduct background checks on all managers and coaches, as well as any other persons and volunteers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams, and
- The local league will be required to conduct a nationwide search that contains the applicable government sex offender registry data. A check conducted only in one state will not meet the minimum requirements of these regulations
